1. Q. How do I find a REIA for an out of state friend?
A. Go to REIA Finder page for links.
2. Q. I signed up for the Upstate CREIA Yahoo! Groups list. Does this mean that I am now a member of Upstate CREIA so I can get member benefits?
A. No. The Yahoo! Groups list called UpstateCREIA-a is a free list that anyone can join. however, joining the list does not entitle you to any of Upstate CREIA’s benefits. To become a member of Upstate CREIA (giving you access to member benefits), you must fill out an application and send in your payment. Please go to the Membership page to get more information on becoming a member of Upstate CREIA.
3. Q. I just sent in my membership payment. How do I get my membership card?
A. When we receive your application paperwork and your payment (both are required), your information is entered into the computer so it will be included in the check-in list that is used at the monthly meetings. Membership cards are made at the membership table at all of the monthly meetings. So come and check-in at the next monthly meeting and your card will be made for you then.
4. Q. How do I get on your Yahoo! Groups list?
A. Click on the button (in the left column) marked ‘Online Networking’. Then enter your email address in the box next to the list that you want to join.
5. Q. How do I get unsubscribed from a Yahoo! Groups list?
A. The next time you receive an email from that list, go to the very bottom of the email and click on the list that says ‘Unsubscribe’. That will cause a confirmation email to be sent. When you follow the directions in the confirmation email, you will be unsubscribed.
6. Q. I just got a new email address, how do I change my address in Yahoo! Groups?
A. The easiest way for non-technical people to change addresses is to unsubscribe your old address (using the directions above) and then sign up for the list using your new address.
7. Q. I haven’t gotten any emails from Yahoo! Groups for several days. Has the list been quiet?
A. Probably not. What may have happened is that your emails have accidentally been marked as spam and are being rerouted to your spam area. The other possibility is that your mailbox may have filled up and (or for some other reason) bounced a list email back to Yahoo! Groups. When that happens, Yahoo! Groups stops sending emails until it has acknowledgment that your mailbox is up and running again. To do this Yahoo! Groups periodically sends out a ‘Reactivation Request’ in the form of an email. When you get that reactivation email, you need to respond to it to get your emails started up again. A reactivation request can be manually sent to you if you like by emailing the list moderator at currym13yahoo.com.
8. Q. How do I post to the list? My posts aren’t getting through.
A. Here are step by step instructions for posting to our UpstateCREIA-a list:
1) Sign into the email account that you used when signing up for the list. (Yahoo! Groups only looks at email addresses, so if you are trying to use another email address, it will not recognize it.)
2) Address your email TO: UpstateCREIA-a@yahoogroups.com
3) Fill in the subject, and body of the email following all the rules in the Welcome Letter that is automatically sent out when you join the list…(i.e. don’t forget to sign your email).
4) Then send your email. Since all emails are manually reviewed and released, it may take a little bit of time for your email to get approved. There are several of us who Moderate the list. We are volunteers and we all have our businesses that we must attend to as well. So please expect a short delay until we can review your email.
5) If the email is returned to you for any reason, please read the reply. The reason for your email not going through will be contained in that email. You may need to check your bulk or spam box to see if this reply got directed there instead of your inbox.
